Emerson’s National Reflection Program

 National PTA Reflections is an art appreciation program which provides students the opportunity  to express themselves and to receive positive recognition for their artistic efforts. Parents, teachers and community members all play a critical role in fostering a positive learning environment for students. Supporting the Reflections program is one way adults can help create that environment. Participating in Reflections is a great way for students to explore and learn about various art forms.   
This is an independent project to be done at home, please support your child’s art experience and have them participate.  Please download the attached interest letter and send it to school with your child tomorrow.

Come One Come All to the First Cal National Student Banking Day at Emerson!!

Cal National Bank will have representatives on hand to collect student deposits on Tuesday, Sept 22nd from 8:15-8:30 am, under the lunch shelter on the upper playground.  They will be giving prizes to the students who make deposits into their student bank accounts.

And if you do not have a student bank account, a bank representative will be on hand from 8:10-8:30 am, in the main hallway, outside the computer lab opening up new accounts.  To open a new student banking account, you must have the student’s social security number and an opening deposit of $5.00.

Ours school is now creating the Dad’s Auxiliary to the Emerson PTA.  Your ideas and creativity are wanted.

Current proposed projects include campus safety activities and regular father-student breakfasts. More will be identified as we get feedback from you.

Getting Healthier is A Walk in The Park

Saturday September 19 McCambridge Park 9:30am Registration & T-Shirt pickup 10:30am One-mile Walk through McCambridge Park 11:30am Picnic & Entertainment America On the Move Week with the YMCA is a nationwide event to inspire individuals and families to incorporate healthy activities into their daily routines. The Burbank Community YMCA is inviting everyone- individuals of all ages, families, kids (dogs too!) to enjoy a mile walk with us, followed by a healthy lunch, music, games and family entertainment in McCambridge park. Fall Festival

Help needed to put together a great Fall Festival. 

• Two volunteers who would solicit items from businesses (ask Trader Joes, etc., for gift certificates) – I have the list of numbers and faxes all you would need to do is make the phone call
• A volunteer to look for parent/student volunteers to work the event
• A volunteer to be in charge of gathering donated items
• Extra miscellaneous (do a little of everything) volunteer
